Welcome to issue 29, from a very cold Bodrum; a low of 2.2°C (and -4.3°C wind-chill) was recorded overnight on the 26th January. The Bodrum Bulletin weather station has also recorded 20cm of rain so far in 2010 (nearly 8cm of which fell last Friday). For full details, see the 2 week weather report, HERE.

I have the following models for sale:-

• UT models 1/18 scale McLaren F1 longtail, as driven to 4th place at Le Mans in 1998 (first non-works team home) by O'Rourke/Sugden/Auberlen in the EMI colours of red, white and yellow. A rare model in these colours, there are currently 2 for sale by specialists on the internet for £120 and £140 respectively. These however are unsigned. Mine is SIGNED by Tim Sugden, one of the drivers, in mint condition, still in its box.
  
  
• Maisto 1/18 Audi R8 'crocodile', as driven to victory in the ALMS series 'race of 1000 years' at Adelaide on 31st December 2000, by Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello. The victory also meant McNish won the drivers championship. This model is also SIGNED by Allan McNish, and is in mint condition, still in its box.

I am looking for one or two yacht crew for the 2010 season (May-October). I am flexible as to dates of departure as my wife cannot crew this year. The boat is moored at Çökertme on the Gökova Gulf about 40km from Bodrum Airport. The only expenses on board would be a share of any mooring fees and a share of any fuel we use. Please realise this is for leisurely cruises on a Magregor 26M and for day sails and cruises for about 4 days. We travel about 15 to 25 miles per day. There is dolmuş transport to and from Çökertme and Bodrum.  Accommodation is free onboard.

Migros Card

OK, not exactly new, but have you used your Migros points yet?

This Sunday (31st January 2010), all points and credit earned from 2009 will be removed from your card. So make sure you pop into Migros and redeem your points (either go to the Migros Card machine at the store entrance, or speak to customer services).

Tags
We now have begun using tags to help identify treated animals. If you see a dog with a blue tag in its ear, the animal is healthy, neutered and has had a rabies vaccination, as part of the Capture, Neuter and Release program. Neutered cats can be identified by a small cut in one of their ears.

Neutering Update
We have started to neuter, vaccinate and tag the dogs in Yalıkavak centre - 10 dogs were done on Tuesday by Fulya at Animana - please look out for dogs with the blue tags! The process will of course take a while, so in the meantime; if you see any dogs without a tag, contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and perhaps you can help us get it neutered.

Additionally, the Bodrum association (BHHD) continues to help us, and to date has neutered 23 cats, and operated on 5 dogs. We hope to announce a date soon when the Mobile Clinic will come to Yalıkavak for on-the-spot cat neutering.

Yalıkavak 2nd Hand Shop Thanks to Ahmet Eser, we temporarily have a shop in Yalıkavak selling 2nd hand items. The shop is in the centre of Yalıkavak village, next to the key-cutters and just round the corner from Çıngıloğlu (under the "+" on the map HERE). The shop will be open 5 days a week; Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 3.30pm. Please come along, and see what we have, or if you have items to donate, just drop them into the shop.
