Welcome to issue 32. We have a packed issue, with a couple of new things we wanted to try...

First up we have the new one-click "Quick Poll" section. The idea is simple; we pose a question and offer a few answers - just click the answer appropriate to you. Assuming we get enough responses, we will then do a brief report on the results in the next issue, and pose a new question. So please give the appropriate answer a click - it will only take a second!

After a reader request, I have also added cinema listings for the Oasis cinema. You'll find the listing at the bottom of the Calendar section.

We live in a small site of 10 houses in Çırkan village - what used to be old Konacık - on the hill above Oasis and the main Jandarma headquarters.

One of our neighbours wants to rent out his house and we said we would put the word out. I haven't been inside but I think they are all similar so you will get three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the upper floor with a large lounge and dining area plus kitchen and toilet on the ground floor. There is a small garden area, but a very big terrace overlooking the shared swimming pool. The roof has been enclosed to make a large general purpose or additional sleeping area.

Not sure if there are any sea views but the site is above Bardakçı Bay/Gümbet Bay but with none of the summertime noise. We have two frequent minibus services - one to Bodrum direct (past Oasis) and the other to Bodrum via Konacık and the Bitez junction. The owner wants 1500TL Turkish liras per month for the furnished property, and there is a site maintenance fee of 300TL per month for gardens and pool maintenance, night security and shared costs like the emergency generator and common area lighting.
