New Turkish Lira and Bank Notes

Don't forget that as of the 1st January, 2009, the "New Turkish Lira", or "Yeni Türk Lirası", ceases to be new any more, and becomes just "Turkish Lira," or "Türk Lirası". New bank notes will be in circulation, but old notes will contine to be valid until the end of the year (although still redeemable at branches of the Central Bank until 2019!).
