Q47: Mains Water Connection
Q47: Our property has mains water, but we've never registered with the Belediye to get an account number. What's the procedure, and is there a charge (even though we're already connected)?
A47: If you live in Yalikavak you go to the su office and take a copy of your tapu and passport and the number of the meter for your building (It is on the copper ring under the lid) and they will create a folder for you. Then you have to go to the council offices and they have to sign it 3 times in 3 different offices, and then back to the su office, who will come out when the meter is due to be read and put a number on your pipes and and then you get a bill. It will cost you for registration and rental of the meter, I cant remember how much it was for me but it was over 300TL, I presume it is the same procedure no matter where you live. --Carol
