Q50: Multi-purpose Filler in Turkey?
Q50: For a while now I've been on the lookout for filler, however all the shelves are full of grout! Has anyone come across something that's like the filler you get in the UK (ideally pre-mixed).
A50.1: The nearest I've found is Dış Cephe Macunu made by Caparol. Comes pre-mixed in 4kg or bigger containers from Koçtaş or similar. It is slightly more liquid than UK filler and does not adhere to surfaces as well. It is also not designed to be smoothed down afterwards so you have to ensure a smooth surface when you put it on. For small jobs, either inside or outside, your best bet is to bring filler back from the UK. --Steve
A50.2: There is a product on sale at Koc Tas & I would imagine at places like Onderler or Tekzen the brand name is "Kale Color" and the description on the label is "Kalin Akrilik Macun" it is described as exterior surface smoothing putty, it works very well as filler but only in thin layers if you try to fill too deeply it will belly or sag. --Chris Hicks
