Q6: Does anyone know the best way to clean a marble work surface?

A6.1 Water and lemon juice mixed to a paste with Bi-carbonate of soda. -- Dennis (GrandadTurk)

A6.2 The best way to clean marble is to use klorak or camisir suyu but wear gloves and be careful not to splash it on you or your clothes. Rise well with fresh water. If there are stubborn stains leave for a while before rinsing. NEVER use tuz ruh or kirec cozucu as they will react with the marble and eat into it as will lemon juice --Sunny (Turkey Central Forum)

A6.3: A friend of mine suggested something called "Porçoz". I think you can get it from KoçTaş. Have not tried it personally and would suggest a test patch first. --Sonni Gopal

NEW: A6.4: "Porcoz" is exactly what you should NOT use on either marble or on grout of tiled floors - it is acid and will eat away the marble/grout!
