Q98: Documents Required for Internet

Q98: I am British and need to install internet at my property on behalf of a non Turkish tenant, but TTNET have told the tenant that they need a Turkish Citizenship number. Can anyone confirm what documents are required to connect TTNET internet for a foreign person in Bodrum?

NEW: A98.1: Assuming that there is already a telephone at the property. We took our Turkish Residency (not Citizenship) and passport with us to the TTNet shop told them what we wanted signed the contract and got connected. Much the same for the telephone. In your tenants case take passport and rent book or proof of paying rent at the property. Seems to me that in your case it may be easier for you to sign up for the Net and your tenant pays you. --Ray

NEW: A98.2: As far as I am aware you need a Residence Permit to get a home internet connection, not Turkish Citizenship... the cost of one years Residence Permit is around 900TL .... Having said that there are little independent shops around Bodrum that will arrange the Internet connection/home phone with just your passport .... like everything else in Turkey depends where you go and who you speak to.... --Debbie

NEW: A98.3: All you need is a copy of your residency or Ikamet and passport, tapu and correct address. -- Dawn, SimplyVillaManagement
