Q103: Driving a Turkish car to the UK and back
Q103: We are intending to drive our Turkish registered car through Europe and ultimately back to the UK this summer. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Apart from the green card is any other paperwork needed? How long should we allow for crossing the border on the outward and inward return journeys (bearing in mind we will be bringing back household items from the UK)? Should we expect any problems?
A103.1: Besides the green card you need a cryptic from the Turkish Automobil club - the closest one is in Izmir, which you have to pick up and pay personally at their office. Check their web site (www.turing.org.tr)for details. Your stay in Europe can not exceed 6 months. good luck. --Beatrix
