Fresh Lemonade
(Makes about 2 litres)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 10-12 lemons)
- 6 cups cold water (to dilute)
Method:
- First, make a simple sugar syrup by gently heating the sugar with 1 1/2 cups water in a saucepan until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Put the sugar water into a pitcher with all the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Add approximately 6 cups of cold water to dilute (more or less to the desired strength), then refrigerate for 30-40 mins.
- Serve with ice and sliced lemons.
If the lemonade is too bitter for your taste, then use more sugar, and if it is too sweet just add more lemon juice!
