Personal ID Number
Foreigners who have residencies are being advised to obtain their "Yabancı Kimlik No Sorgulama". This new identification number is easy to get, and is in addition to your tax (Vergi) number, and your residency number.
To obtain it, Follow these steps:
- Visit http://tckimlik.nvi.gov.tr/web/ForeignQueryIdentityNumber.aspx
- In the first box (Resim Doğrulama), type the verification number that is shown on the right
- Fill in the left hand side only:
- Your Year of birth (Doğum Yılı)
- Your Residency Number (İkamet Tezkere No), note; this is not the "Seri" number, but the number shown in the middle of the 1st page, it's usually of the form 12/34568
- Click the blue box on the left "Yabancı Kimlik No Sorgulama". You should now see your personal details appear at the bottom of the window - if you do not - verify the details you have put in.
- Click "Yazdır" and you will get a printable version of the page to keep for your records.
