Getting Emergency Healthcare Treatment

Emergency Healthcare

In the UK, we're used to phoning "999" and asking for an ambulance. But what about in Turkey; which number do I ring? which hospital or clinic do I go to?

Put simply, in Turkey, you should dial "112" and speak to the operator, once your location is confirmed, they will send the "most appropriate" ambulance to you, which will take you to any of the nearby hospitals (depending on your wishes, or the injury).

However, if your Turkish is not up to scratch, there's no guarantee that the person on the other end will speak English. For this reason you may want to ensure you carry around the emergency number for your nearest medical clinic which has a paramedic ambulance. For example, Clinic International in Bodrum. Not only will your local clinic be easier to speak to, but they will have your records, and they will be well placed to advise the next step; whether it's sending their ambulance, or a closer one.

Here is a list of some of the clinics and the hospitals in Bodrum. Please note that not all clinics are open all-year. If you have corrections or amendments to this table, please let us know by leaving a comment below, or contact us.
