The Role of a Sworn Translator in Turkey

Foreigners doing any means of official transactions within the Republic of Turkey are in need of a legal translator for such transactions as buying a property, buying a car, giving a Power of Attorney, any actions in the Court houses, Police, etc. the reason for this is “a friend” that speaks English can not be of any help at any legal aspect, as you can imagine the key word here is “legal”. Because these kind of transactions can only be done by the sworn translators at the governmental and private bodies that you are visiting. In another words you need to have a sworn translator present in such places.
As an example if you need to have any transaction to be done at the notary you might have a friend that is a sworn translator, and you could ask them to help you for the transaction, but if they are not the official translator of the notary you are presently at then they can not help you.
Each notary work with their own approved translators, It is in the responsibility of the notary to verify who they want to work with. Most of our colleagues work with all of the notaries within their own area, but this does not have to be the case at all times. When in need of such a service you can visit the notary and ask them for a translator to be called in or you can organise the translator meet you at the notary that they work with. Translators can also have preferable notaries that they use.
For languages that are rarely used, you again can ask for help from the notary or contact one of the translation companies within the region for you to give you assistance.
There shall always be a sworn translators available to give you the assistance you require when ever it is needed. We are only a phone call away from you and will be at your service day and night.
