Bodrum Bulletin - Now FREE for Everyone
Back at the beginning of 2010 we introduced the concept of Premium Content, a successful program which meant that for just £12 per year you could have access to all articles featured in the Bodrum Bulletin. For 2012, we're happy to announce that we're removing the Premium Content membership, and ALL website and newsletter content is available FREE to EVERYONE.
Why the change?
Since the start, there have always been two main concepts behind the Bulletin;
1. Provide an informative basic free content service
2. Operate to cover costs only and not make a profit.
We've published some great articles in our two years of Premium Content, and it was frustrating seeing them only read by a few members with Premium Content subscription. By removing access restrictions it is hoped that these great articles can be enjoyed and put to use by all of the Bodrum community.
What's now free?
Here's just a sampler of Premium Content which it is now completely free to access;
- Free access to the Readers' Recommendations Directory; access to over 80 businesses and trades people who have been personally recommended by readers of the Bulletin
- Free access to our 24/7 webcam and weather station
- Free access to over 20 businesses offering discounts
- Free access to our monthly updates;
- Free access to our Calculators;
- Cost of Living in Turkey calculator; work out how much your bills are likely to be.
- Capital Gains Tax calculator; Selling a property within 5 years of ownership? Use our calculator to find out how much you'll have to pay the tax man.
- Property Purchase calculator; Buying or selling a property, but not sure what the related fees should be? This can calculate the costs for you.
- Electricity Bill calculator; Check historical electricity rates, work out if you're better off on a fixed - or mixed - rate tariff, and also find out what all the figures mean on an electricity bill,
- Interest calculator; quickly work out exactly what a 10% interest rate means for you.
What's the catch?
Well there's isn't one really, but we do have to try and cover the running costs associated with the Bulletin. Of course, we welcome your donations, but unfortunately this alone isn't enough, so you may notice that we're starting to introduce Google Adwords to the site. We're also investigating the possibility of advertising banners. We'll do our best to keep these to a minimum, so that they do not spoil your experience while on our site.
