Internations

The following is written by Susan Marechal,

Imagine being able to start a fresh way of experiencing an exciting new lifestyle as an International expat with other globally minded people, living right here in Bodrumand extending out along the Southern coast of Turkey. This holiday season jumps starts with an exhilaratinginnovativegroup created with you in mind with a totally new way of making friends, building business relationships, networking and attending social events at interesting places in a relaxed atmosphere.

Begin a new hobby, enlargen your personal circle of acquaintances. Find out first hand about exciting cultural events going on in your local area, the arts, musical concerts and activate your life with cross cultural connections.

You can interact on line through newsgroups forums and source reliable information and tips from other members about your immediate environment. Have fun being able to exchange ideas etc with trusted people who have had plenty experience of living and working in other countries.

Internations.org already exists in more than 280 cities worldwide with over 100,000 members. The group inIstanbul has grown to 2500 members in just over two years. I believe that down here in the South this will also become an overnight success as there is an obvious demand for a group of this calibre within the local International community..This group is geared towards people who have either lived abroad or were born in other countries who enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life and in every occupation.

If you are a long time resident or just new on the scene, it is really easy to join and the good news is that it is free. All you have to do is go to Internations.org and apply for an invitation and fill it in for Southern Turkey, Bodrum or wherever you live and please be sure to tell all your friends and neighbours. I am looking to have our first introductory get together in the middle of April. If you are interested please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . the information which you will also be able to find on the local web page.

Eventually I am hoping to organise splinter groups for those of you interested in participating in other activities. How about hiking groups, painting, bridge, photography, wine tasting, gourmet cooking, yoga, spiritual workshops etc. Or what ever other interests you would like to share with other members.

Having lived and worked in several countries myself....Germany, France, Switzerland, Greece and now back in Turkey for the second time. I have also started a similar International group in Crete of which I was president for almost eight years, which is a great success and still going strong.

I look forward to hearing and meeting you all soon in the near future. Susan Marechal
