Saturday, 3rd January 2009 Free Book Exchange – Atlantis La Bella, Oasis, Bodrum With the shorter days, and the colder evenings, are you fed up with the lack of good English books to read? The fortnightly book exchange at the Oasis Shopping Centre has been going from strength to strength, so if you fancy meeting some new faces and would like a fresh supply of quality English books, then come along for some chat, a coffee, and the best apple pie in Bodrum. All you need to do is bring any book. From romance to sci-fi, biographical to horror, crime to comedy, someone will be grateful for it. And don't worry – we don't expect a full review or a deep analysis of the book. The next meeting is Saturday 3rd January at 11am, then on 17th January. Start the new year without smoking... Stop smoking before the end of the year with two sessions with Mind detox and eft.... Mental Detox Your mind and body are connected. Emotional blocks can show up as physical problems. When you change your mind, your body changes because the mind and body are in constant communication with each other. Not only that, but your thoughts and feelings affect your "external" world too! Your mind is very much like a magnet, constantly pulling into your life all the people, places, events and things that reflect your emotionally-fuelled beliefs, intentions and expectations. A mind detox is as important as any physical cleanse. If you're carrying around a truck load of toxic thoughts about who you are and what you can't be, do or have you will severely limit your life enjoyment and success. If on top of that, you're holding onto a lifetime (or more!) of unresolved negative emotions, you can experience disease within your body and mind. Most people, most of the time, unintentionally block having the body and life they want with out-of-date emotionally-charged negative mind programming. By detoxing your mind blocks you can more easily experience the levels of peace, happiness, health, wealth and vitality that are not only your most natural way of being, but your birthright as a human being. Vipassana Meditation Vipassana is a simple, practical method of meditation which makes it possible to face the tensions and problems of daily life in a calm and balanced way. It is a systematic way of developing insight, self-mastery and real peace of mind. Vipassana is taught in 10-day residential courses where students observe silence as they learn the meditation technique. Regular instructions and discourses are provided throughout. There are no charges for the course. All expenses are met by donations from previous students. A course will be held at Şile near Istanbul from 4-15 February 2009, in English and Turkish. A group of us are learning and improving our Turkish with Cimen in her home in Gümbet. We feel able to recommend her as we chose to take a second course with her this Winter and most of us seem to be benefiting more than with any previous teacher.

PC Corner |
Computer running slowly? Fed up waiting for software to load? Worried about viruses, trojans, spyware, spam, adware, malware, backups, firewalls and routers? Each issue of the Bodrum Bulletin, I'll be showing you how to clean, optimise, and improve your computers' speed, without spending a penny! I'll cover the basics and fundamentals only, I'll endeavour to keep the instructions simple and will not go into too much detail - if you want to know more, contact me, or research it further yourself online. First up, it's getting rid of temporary files that may have built up over time, and for this, there's one simple, free application I recommend - CCleaner (Crap-Cleaner). It'll safely go through your computer and remove unwanted files, which include temporary internet files, temporary installs, temporary documents and more. Here are the steps to install and run CCleaner:
That's it - congratulations, your PC should be a little faster. I would recommend repeating this process every week or so, but running it more often will not do any damage. For more information, or help, feel free to contact me at dngood@gmail.com |

| Feature: Life Coaching |
The New Year brings a great opportunity to turn over a new leaf. With this in mind, this issue's feature focuses on life coaching. What is Coaching? Coaching is a powerful tool that benefits individuals and companies. It is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their own performance. It’s helping them to learn rather than teaching them. Coaching is a conversational yet focused discipline that supports people in learning how to lead and manage themselves more effectively in relation to their issues, their resources, their contexts and their potential. Coaching offers to manage yourself more effectively, to identify and work around your limitations, to focus your intention and your resources and, above all, to make changes in your life for the better. Life coaching is concerned with living your life in keeping with what’s important to you. It enables you to get clear, regain control and achieve balance in your life. It addresses all manner of issues. Who needs a coach?
lf any of the following are true for you, personal life and business coaching might be exactly what you've been looking for.
"If you want to get a suntan, you need to get out of the shade."
